Oscar Aguilar was born to Manuel and Maria Aguilar and is the 7th of 12 children. He was born in Douglas, Arizona and moved to Sulphur Springs, Texas in 1969. He graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1980. While growing up, he worked with his father in construction to provide homes and buildings in Sulphur Springs, Mt. Pleasant, and other surrounding cities.
Oscar attended East Texas State University for a year and a half before realizing that his passions lay elsewhere. He then began working in various industries before finding his calling in the funeral business. He began working at a Sulphur Springs funeral home performing handyman duties. Oscar quickly expressed his interest in the business and began attending the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service and graduated in 1992.
Oscar received his 25-year service award in 2019. He has been Secretary-Treasurer and President of the East Texas Funeral Directors Association and on the Board of the Texas Funeral Directors Association. He was awarded the East Texas Funeral Director Association’s Funeral Director of the Year in 2020.
Oscar does not meet a stranger and is an asset in being a bilingual director.
He is involved with St. James Catholic Church, involved with the Hopkins County Rodeo Committee for 25 plus years, and is currently, President of the Committee, he has been a bullfighter and rodeo clown as well. His favorite part of the Rodeo is the Handicapable Rodeo, which benefits over 300 children in Hopkins and the surrounding counties. He was awarded the UPRA Committee Man of the Year in 2016 and inducted into the UPRA Hall of Fame in 2022. He is currently serving on the Sulphur Springs City Council since 2020 and has been a past City Council member for 15 years.
Oscar is grateful for the support of his wife, two children and extended family.
He believes that the funeral business is a true calling and enjoys going above and beyond to provide what is necessary for the families in their time of need.

Lonnie is a native Texan born in the Texas Panhandle but raised in New Mexico. After graduating high school, he spent ten years working in the oil industry in New Mexico, Texas and California before choosing a career in funeral service. He graduated from The Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 1998 and spent the next 29 years serving families in Southwest Arkansas, and Northwest Louisiana before moving to Sulphur Springs to join West Oaks Funeral Home in 2018. He often jokingly tells families, "I got back to Texas as soon as I could." Lonnie and his wife Pam have been married for 47 years and are the proud parents of two children, and proud grandparents of three beautiful granddaughters.
Office Manager
Jeremy is the office administrator for West Oaks Funeral Home; he has been in the funeral industry for eight years and with West Oaks for two years. He is passionate about helping to create meaningful tributes to honor the family's loved ones. He is originally from Sulphur Springs and loves his community. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, working in the yard and traveling. His best way to de-stress is spending time with his dog, whether it's long walks or hanging on the couch.
