He was born on October 4, 1936 in Tira, Texas to Ernest Lonnie and Myrza Chapman Watson.  He married Janette Rorie on August 24, 1958 in Sulphur Springs. Emersyn Blake Scantlen was born on January 8, 2020 at 6:48 AM weighing 5 pounds 2 ounces and was 17 inches long. She was born to Benjamin and Kaitlyn Scantlen of Sulphur Springs, and proud big sister Sydney.   She spent the next hour and twelve minutes of her life surround by family and close friends that loved her dearly including her grandparents Larry and Teresse Hoffman of Cooper, and Norman and Judy Scantlen of Cooper.
