Wayne Thornton

Funeral Service for Wayne Thornton will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at West Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Rogers officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg, Texas. Wayne passed away on January 25, 2025, in Tyler, Texas.

Wayne was born on August 27, 1946, to Bernard and Lucy Murray Thornton in Natchez, Mississippi. He married Kaye Berry on November 17, 1966, in Borger, Texas. Wayne worked for many years until his retirement as a machinist at Henderson MFG. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and adored spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kaye Thornton; son, Roger Thornton, Jr. and his wife, Melissa; daughters: Tawnette Ramsey and her husband, Michael, and Jennifer Browning; brothers, Raymond Thornton, and Sam Thornton; grandchildren, Kayla Greene and her husband, Jay, Karly Hugley and her husband, Brantyn, Austin Thronton, Kristin Thompson and her husband, Preston, and David Ramsey and his wife, Danielle; great-grandchildren, Jenson Thompson, Emerson Thompson, Ellison Thompson, and Dylan Kate Burnett.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Stephen Thornton, and one brother, Bernie Thornton.
