Truman Duard Cox II, a devoted husband, loving father, and vibrant spirit passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on May 13, 2025 in Emory, Texas. He was 63 years old.
Born on April 16, 1962 in El Paso, Texas. Truman lived a beautiful life full of service, determination, laughter, and love. Truman graduated from Socorro High School in 1980. He began his journey with the United States Army, serving his country with pride and discipline. After his military service he continued protecting others as a Police Officer for the El Paso Police Department. Never one to shy away from hard work or a new challenge Truman later started his own company, Stealth Security, of which he was so proud. Truman also went on to become a successful real estate agent and then finally a long haul truck driver, following in his father‘s footsteps.
Truman was far more than the sum of his many careers. He was a man of heart and humor, known for his unwavering positivity, and zest for life. He loved riding his motorcycle with his lover (Dorrainne), hitting the golf course, and belting his heart out to all those great jams. His presence was magnetic, and he had a rare gift for turning ordinary moments into joyful memories. His laughter was contagious and his ability to make others smile was a gift he shared freely.
Truman was married three times and it was on his third and final marriage that he found his high school sweetheart again and his greatest happiness. His wife, Dorrainne Cox, was his soulmate, best friend, and his loving partner. Their love was evident to everyone around them, sharing a deep bond full of laughter, loyalty, and enduring love.
He was a proud and loving father and stepfather. He is survived by his children: Katherine Roe, Valerie Cox, Natalie Fenlon, Christian Cox, and Trevor Cox; and by his stepchildren: Jose Turon, Karinda West, Kalynn Coleman, and Troy Coleman. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Truman Duard Cox III, whose memory he held close every day.
Truman was also preceded in death by his parents, Truman and Alicia Cox who raised him with faith, strength, and love. He is survived by his siblings Sergio Cox (Marie), Robert Cox (Frances), Christine Hulen (Brett), and Yvonne Vianelli (Kathi).
Truman is also survived by his many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews each of whom he loved dearly. To them he was more than just Pop Pop or Tio. He was a mentor, a protector, and a source of joy and affection. His love for his family was constant and wholehearted.
Truman’s legacy is one of joy, resilience, and connection. He showed up for the people he loved and he was dependable. He brought humor to the hardest days and taught those around him the value of living fully, loving deeply, and being true to faith. His spirit will live on in the stories, songs, and hearts of all who knew and loved him.
