Shirley Hamilton Obituary

Shirley Jean Hamilton, age 85, of Sulphur Springs, passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021 at her residence. She was born on May 12, 1935 in Oklahoma City, OK, the daughter of Frank and Pearl Hukill. She was a Native American artist and also worked as a security peace officer. Shirley was a champion bowler, pool shark, and a cutthroat Skip Bo player. She married James Lincoln Hamilton and he preceded her in death in 2015. She was also preceded in death by her mother Pearl Hukill, brother George Hukill, and sisters Betty Meyers and Bonnie Webb.

She is survived by son, Eric Hamilton of Sulphur Springs; daughter, Trae Hamilton (Marj Troyer) of Irving; grandchildren: Hailey Tucker (Michael Tucker); Colten Hamilton; Tori Hamilton; Johnny Smith; Patti Smith; Casey Smith; Carlie Smith; and great-grandson, Zayden Tucker.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Private family graveside services will follow with Rev. Carol West officiating. Colten Hamilton, Michael Tucker, Carl Smith, Johnny Smith, Casey Smith, and Logan Merrell will serve as pallbearers. Eric Hamilton and Mike Comer will be honorary pallbearers.
