With a heavy heart and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Roy Oliver Reeves, a decorated and proud veteran, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who passed away on February 21, 2025, at the age of 80.
Roy is survived by his wife of 48 years, Juanita Reeves, his children, Susan Brown (Waldorf, Maryland), Cindie Duncan (Lithia, Florida) and her husband Barry Duncan, Joyce Hornor (Austin, TX), Steven Workman (Broadway, Virginia) and his wife Julie Workman, Rhonda Wilson, Rebecca Reeves, and Roy Reeves, Jr. His grandchildren: Robert Duncan, Jessica Castleberry, Stephanie Shouse and her husband Cody Shouse, Samuel Hornor, Ross Hornor and his fiancé Macey Smith, Elliot Workman, Eric Workman, and Blade Workman. His great grandchildren: Jailyn Castleberry, Jaxon Castleberry, Josiah Castleberry, Bishop Shouse, Piper Shouse, and Thatcher Shouse. He is preceded in death by his parents Raymond Silas and Addie Reeves, his son, Jeffrey Workman and his granddaughter, Rachel Claxon.
Roy was born in California on May 24, 1944, to Raymond Silas and Addie Reeves. On February 17,1977, he married Juanita Reeves. They met and married at the Chanute Air Force Base in Illinois. Roy was a devoted caring husband. Roy loved working on cars and being outdoors. He loved making memories with his family and being called “PapPap”. Roy was always proud of his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Roy loved dressing up as Santa and serving the community at retirement homes and the Sulphur Springs Christmas Parade. Roy was highly trained, had many honors, and medals in the United States Air Force. Roy was a Master Sergeant who served in the Air Force for 24 years and defended our country in multiple missions. PapPap loved wearing anything veteran or USA related.
Roy was a devoted friend and PapPap, and he will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
Visitation for Roy Oliver Reeves will be from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at West Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Service be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2025, also at West Oaks Funeral Home. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at DFW National Cemetery.
