Roger Reed Obituary

Roger Reed was born on March 30, 1954, and went to be with the Lord on April 24, 2023. Roger was a loving husband, father, son, and Pappy. He was born and raised in Sulphur Springs, TX. He spent five years in the US Army. Attended Texas State Tech College, receiving his associate degree in automotive, and a certificate in meat processing. He returned home in 2006 to open Reed Scrap Metal with his brother, Richard Reed. With his love of music, in 2010, he started volunteering at the Riley Springs Jamboree, country music show. He gladly loaned his equipment and advice as a new era began in his musicianship and willingness to try new things. His open heart and hands made a positive mark on every young talent he worked with, and every person in the audience. He received the Community Pride Award in 2012, Man of the Year Award in 2019, and was a lifetime member of the VFW in Sulphur Springs. For a decade until health problems entered his life, Roger’s comedy, strengths, and talents were offered selflessly. Because of his love of county music and budding talent for that and more, he will not be forgotten and will be remembered by many with love.
