Funeral Service for Rodney Bernard Harris, age 55, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the Cypress Baptist Center with Rev. Phillip Harrison officiating. Joe Wilkerson, Cam Jams, Anthony Barrett, Derrick Harris, Keydrick Harris, and Rickey Abron will be serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Keidric Duffey, Charles Duffey, Jr., and DeWayne Harris. Interment will follow the service at North Caney Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026, at West Oaks Funeral Home.
Rodney Bernard Harris was born on September 28, 1970, in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Jimmie Johnson and Cathleen Harris Johnson. He accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Cherry Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of the late elder Curtis Rose. He was employed at the United Postal Services for 25+ years. Rodney transitioned into eternal rest on December 22, 2025, at his residence in Mount Pleasant, Texas.
He leaves behind to cherish his parents, Jimmie and Cathleen Johnson; brothers, Jamie and Linnie Harris, Heath and Deborah Johnson, and Jimmy; sisters, Teresa Johnson and Tasha Bass; daughters, Rekea, Nevaeh, Keniyah, Kaylaya and his sons, Rodney Harris, Jr., and Azion Harris; nieces and newphews, A-lexus Harris, Jarvis Harris, Keydrick Harris, Mason Panell, Marcellus Johnson, Teressa Janae Johnson, and Kayla Johnson.
Rodney was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Arthur and Willie Mae Harris and Johnny Johnson and Terrlie Harris.
