Ozie Marie Wright

Funeral Service for Ozie Marie Wright, age 88 will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 7,

2025, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Gaylon Wright officiating. Interment will

follow the service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Wright passed away June 28, 2025, in

Sulphur Springs, Texas.

Ozie was born on May 25, 1937, to Leoza and Catherine Askew Nash in East Caney,

Texas. She married the love of her life, Orange George (O.G.) Wright on September 21,

1957, in Hopkins County. Ozie worked as a seamstress at the HD Lee Factory before

she began her career in hospitality at Sulphur Springs Memorial Hospital. She accepted

Christ at an early in life and was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church;

where she sang in the choir and served in other areas of ministry. She visited the sick

and elderly and was a 4-H leader. She was a member of the Pride of Columbia Court

490, Heroine of Jericho, Texas Jurisdiction.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Byron Wright and his wife, Pamela

(Mesquite, TX), and Walter Wright and his wife, LouAnn (Winnsboro, TX); daughters,

Gail Caldwell (Whitehouse, TX), Corynthia Stribling and her husband, Barry (Sulphur

Springs, TX), Paula Gossett and her husband Leon (Tyler, TX) Tobbie Wright (Saginaw,

TX), and Samantha Lewis (Dallas, TX). Ozie is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 23

great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, as well as host of nieces,

nephews, and friends.

Ozie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Orange George (O.G.) Wright;

parents, Leoza and Catherine Nash: brothers, Noble Earl Nash, Truman Nash, and Lee

Nash; sisters, Ardahlia Scott, Gloria Jean Franklin, and Glenda Brown, as well as her

son-in-law, Dillard Caldwell.
