Newton Lee Robinson, U.S. Army Veteran, born in Commerce, Texas on June 26, 1952, was sent to his eternal home on April 13, 2025, at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs, Texas.
Survived by his wife of 51 years, Jackie Sue Robinson; daughter, Lindsay Amber Robinson (Jimmy Barton) and son, Joseph Caleb McCormick (Becky McCormick both of Sulphur Springs, Texas; brothers, Jeff Robinson of Las Vegas, Nevada, Michael Robinson, Roger Robinson, and Derek Robinson all of Sulphur Springs, Texas.; sisters, Candace Robinson, Amy Robinson (Ray Robinson), Kristi Odom (Glen Odom) all of Sulphur Springs, Texas, as well as numerous grandchildren, and multiple great and great-great-grandchildren.
Newton was preceded in death by his first-born daughter, Heather Leigh-Ann Robinson; parents, James Edward Robinson and Mavenell King Robinson, his sisters, Freda Johnson, Aletha Robinson, and Vicki Foster.
Newton served in the U.S. Army 1971-1974 as a computer engineer repairman. He was known for how smart he was. Trained in Louisiana, and then headed to Germany to be stationed. From there he made some friends and visited Paris, France and Europe, loved sharing his stories with his family. Newton had a special gift of making others laugh and always so kind, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path. He loved Jesus and his favorites called him Poppy, the love he showed his grandchildren and family will always be remembered. Such a beautiful man, very respectful and well respected. Newton was a wonderful husband, a great father and grandfather and the best big brother.
