Mildred Lucille (Wilson) Barksdale

Funeral services for Mildred Lucille Wilson Barksdale, age 88, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Spence Chapel at First Baptist Church with Dr. Kent Pate and Dr. Roy Edgemon officiating. Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m., prior to the service. Pallbearers will be W.G. White, Travis State, Tommy Glenn, Gene White, Don Brown, and Jim Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be the Radio Bible Class of First Baptist Church. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park in Seagoville. Mildred passed away on January 11, 2020 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. She was born on September 26, 1931 in Seagoville, the daughter of Cecil and Ida Knight Wilson. She married Jimmie Barksdale on February 9, 1974 in Seagoville, and he survives. She worked as a secretary for the Baptist National Convention for 22 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs, where she taught the ladies bible class for several years. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Lottie Moon or Annie Armstrong Mission of First Baptist Church at 116 Oak Avenue, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482 or a charity of your choice.
