Mary Louise Nelson

Graveside services for Mary Louise Nelson, age 73, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Mel Haven Cemetery with Bishop Nelson Gatlin officiating. Pallbearers will be Devon Franklin, Keyton Sims, Marcus Johnson, Tyrik Rollinson, Antoine Rollinson, and Brian Franklin. Come and go visitation will be held from 12 noon to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, October 1, 2020 and from 12 noon to 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 2, 2020 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mary passed away on September 19, 2020 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs. She was born on March 4, 1947, in Greenville, TX the daughter of Willie Nelson and Melvina Neal Nelson. She worked as a CNA for many years at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital in Sulphur Springs later known as Christus Mother Frances Hospital. She was also a devoted member of Mitchell Chapel Church of God in Christ. Mary is survived by sons, Vincent Franklin of Sulphur Springs, Brandon Franklin and wife Mindy of Sulphur Springs, grandchildren, Devon Franklin, Brooklyn Sims, Keyton Sims, Jayden Sims, brother, Larry Nelson of Banning, CA, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, R.D. Orka, Willie Ray Nelson, J.W. Nelson, sisters, Margie Reed, Minnie Cullors, Betty Jean Rollison, Mattie Mae Holiness, Magalene Askew, and Cleo Nelson.
