Linda Rodgers Weitz passed away on August 3, 2023, at her home in Sulphur Springs, TX. She was born on July 29, 1940, in Dallas, TX, the daughter of Milas Marion Rodgers and Ola Charlene Carpenter. Linda played softball in Irving for a few years. She had a love for horses and was in the Irving Rodeo Club. Then she became a truck driver for 36 years. After her husband Frank Weitz passed in 1997, she continued to drive until 2001. Then she moved to Sulphur Springs and enjoyed farmwork and would outwork everyone. She absolutely loved to mow. There was never a stray animal as long as it was up to her. She loved her computer/ casino games and was a very dedicated wrestling watcher. Jane would take her to local matches weekly until covid stopped them. She was a character to everyone she came to meet. Wes came up with a nickname of “Crabcake” for her and she loved that. She is loved and missed. Linda is survived by daughter, Jane Ann Madill Mills and husband Wes, grandchildren, Chad Madill, Nicolas Ortiz, Savannah Ortiz Brown, and Johnathan Ayala, and great-grandchildren, Tobias Brown, Chad Madill Jr., Wyatt Brown, Maddie Ayala, and Jaxon Ayala. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hearts of Life Animal Rescue, 471 Co Rd 4510, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482.
