LB Jordan

Funeral services for LB Jordan, 98, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026, at Wesley Methodist Church. The services will be officiated by Rev. Larry Jordan and Rev. Garry Jordan, with Rev. Joe Clark assisting. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time at Wesley Methodist Church on Monday, August 10, 2026. Burial will follow at Mahoney Cemetery with Jeremy Jordan, Jordan Nelson, Joshua Jordan, Jacob Nelson, Dustin Slaton, Jon Lee, and Ian Zeringue serving as pallbearers.

   Mr. Jordan passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at his residence with his family by his side. He was born in Hopkins County on July 12, 1928, the son of Hester Ray Jordan and Mary Lucille Dickey Jordan. He married Algarine Davis on November 27, 1947, in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Jordan owned Southern Auto Supply for more than thirty-two years where he was honored with the distinguished Boss of the year Award from the local Kiwanis club where he also served as a member before working as a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Watson Company for fifteen and a half years. He was a member of the Harvey Class at Wesley Methodist Church since 1954, where he served as President, Chairman of the Board, Finance Committee, and Superintendent of the Sunday School for many years. 

         He is survived by his two sons, Larry Jordan and wife Donna, Garry Jordan and wife Gena, and two daughters, Dana Jordan, Donna Nelson and husband Larry all of Sulphur Springs. Seven grandchildren, Jeremy Jordan and Melissa, Melody Slaton and Dustin, Jordan Nelson and Krista, Joshua Jordan and Leslie, Laura Lee and Jon, Jacob Nelson and Alina, and Jaci Zeringue and Ian. Twenty Great Grandchildren, one sister Vonda Nell Byars of San Leon, Texas, "Adopted" Daughter Pennye West, and Caregiver Nora Vargas.

         He was preceded in death by his loving wife Algarine, his parents and brother Dennis Ray Jordan.
