Mitsie Karla Campbell, 75, of Sulphur Springs passed away on August 25, 2024 at her residence.
Karla was born in Pittsburg, Tx. on May 26, 1949. She was the daughter of B.J. Gearner and Edith Loretta Phillips Gearner. Karla and Dan Campbell were married in Sulphur Sulphur on May 15, 1976 at St. James Catholic Church.
She received a Bachelors of Science with honors from Texas Woman’s University on 1971, and a Master Degree from the University of Kansas on 1974.
She was a retired dietitian from Hopkins County Memorial Hospital, also many years as a director of the WIC program in Hopkins County. Also, she was a dietitian for several school districts and several nursing home facilities in Northeast Texas.
She was a member of Saint James Catholic Church. Karla and her husband Dan Campbell were owners of West Oaks Funeral Home.
She is survived by her husband Dan Campbell of Sulphur Springs, Homer Yanez also of Sulphur Springs, and one niece of Medford , OK.
She was preceded in death by both parents and one sister.
A private entombment was held on Thursday August 29, 2024 at 11:00am at City Cemetery conducted by Father Victor Hernandez of Saint James Catholic Church.
