Jerrell Lynn Echols, 70, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, passed away on April 4, 2026.
Jerrell was born on January 17, 1956, in Dallas, Texas, to Harold Echols and Thenia Mae Williams. He was raised in Sulphur Springs, where he attended Sulphur Springs High School and graduated in 1975. Shortly after graduating, Jerrell entered the workforce and built a long and dedicated career. Throughout the years, he worked for HD Lee, Sandpointe Manufactured Homes, Union Pacific Railroad Company, and TXU.
On May 25, 1979, Jerrell married the love of his life, Cecelia Dial. Together they built a life centered on family and raised two children. Jerrell was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who took great pride in providing for and supporting his loved ones.
Jerrell was a member of East Caney Baptist Church, where he valued fellowship and his relationship with God.
In 2012, Jerrell retired from TXU after more than 30 years of service. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time doing the things he loved most—fishing, raising cattle, and working on cars. He was known for his strong work ethic, quiet strength, and the deep love he had for his family.
Jerrell was preceded in death by his father, Harold Echols; his mother, Thenia Mae Williams; his grandparents, Matthew and Martha Jones, and Edna Echols; and his brother, Timothy Echols.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Cecelia Echols; his daughters, Jermesha Milton and her husband Frank, and Erin Echols; his sons, Jerome Givens and his wife Eurica, and Terrence Echols; his cherished grandchildren, Alexander Milton, Haley Milton, Zarah Hill, Jaylin Curley, Skyler Curley, Sydney Givens, and Cam'ron Givens; his sister, Daphyne Jackson; and a host of extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
