Jane Hale Kivell
Memorial service for Jane Hale Kivell age, 87, of Sulphur Springs will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Shannon Oaks Church she will buried at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu, Hawaii beside her husband.
Mrs. Kivell passed away on Monday April 13, 2026, in Sulphur Springs.
She was born on September 18, 1938, in Tucumcari , New Mexico the daughter of John and Edna Ingram Hale. She married Clarence Earl Kivell in 1963, and he preceded her in death on March 17, 1979. Mrs. Kivell graduated high school from Tucumcari High School and attended college at Abilene Christian University graduating with a degree in education. Jane received her Master in Education from East Texas State University and had worked on her Doctorate. She taught school for over Forty-Four years, having taught in New Mexico, Florida, Tennessee, California, Hawaii, and Texas where she taught at Princeton ISD and Cumby ISD.
She was president of the Local Beta Nu chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa as well as President of the state teacher’s organization. Never ever met a stranger, was very active in community events such as the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life. She traveled all over the world with her husband while in the military. She was very creative with her students and loved every one of them. Mrs. Kivell was a member of Shannon Oaks Church.
She is survived by her son Caz Kivell and wife Sheri of Sulphur Springs, Sister Marjorie West of Sulphur Springs, nieces Ann Lary, Lee Gifford, Johnna West, and Carol Crowson. Other nieces and nephews are Tammy, Tony, Terry, Brad and Lynn, plus a host of grand nieces and nephews.
