Funeral Service for James Norman Morgan, age 90, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2024, at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ed Lantz officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the Boy Scouts of Troop 69 and his grandsons and great-grandsons. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 Sunday, July 28, 2024, at West Oaks Funeral Home. James passed away on July 21, 2024, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. James was born on November 13, 1933, in Harlingen, TX, the son of James Henry Morgan and Ina Lee Knowls Morgan. He married Charlotte Anne Ross on July 20, 1957, in Wichita Falls, TX.
James received his Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degrees in Dairy Science. He worked for the Southland Corporation for 30 years. He developed the milkshake recipe for Whataburger and the first set of flavors for the International Coffee Creamers. James enjoyed wood carving, wine making and loved playing board games. He was a Scout Leader for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife Charlotte Morgan; sons, Stephen Ross Morgan of Sulphur Springs and Richard Neal Morgan of Dallas, TX; daughter, Leslie Ann Morgan Reid and her husband, Scott of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren Charlie Brumfield, Lindy Deasy, Jeremy Williams, Julia Reid, Samuel Reid, James Morgan as well as eight great-grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Jayme Lynn Brumfield and three sisters.
