Funeral Service for Helen Marie McDaniel, age 86, will be at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026, at West Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Stace McEwin officiating. Brad Drake, Paul Drake, Bo Pridemore, Scott Wilson, Robert Eaton, Caleb Jones, and Justin Walls will be serving as pallbearers. Interment will follow the service at 3:30 p.m. at Forest Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 11:00 a.m. Helen passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, in Sulphur Springs, Texas.
Helen was born on September 19, 1939, to Kim Buck Drake and Bertha Mae Walker Drake in Direct, Texas. She married LaRoyce McDaniel on May 3, 1958, in Garretts Bluff, Texas, he preceded her in death. She worked in banking for many years, was a member of First Baptist Church, and loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Rory McDaniel and Wade McDaniel and his wife, Wendi; daughter, Shannon Brock and her husband, Brett; brother, Richard Drake and his wife, Trava; sister, Becky Pridemore; sister-in-law, Wanda Durham; grandchildren, Whitney Spigener, Hayley Jones and her husband, Caleb, Landon Brock, Wylie McDaniel, Brian McDaniel and his wife, Jennifer, Amanda McDaniel; great-grandchildren, Mick McDaniel, Kevin McDaniel, Brandon McDaniel, River McDaniel, Kyle Densmore, Brayden Densmore, Hunter McPherson and his wife, Makayla, Tanner McPherson and his wife, Alexis, Allison Spigener, Parker Spigener, Gunner McKinney, and Lucy Jones; great-great-grandchild, Mae Lynn McPherson as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Kim Buck and Bertha Mae Drake, her loving husband, LaRoyce McDaniel, brother, Hubert Drake, and sisters, Hazel, Mary, Melba, and Ann.
The family would like to thank the staff at Rockcreek Nursing and Rehab and Heart to Heart Hospice for their comfort and care.
