H.R. "Hawk" Barnett

H.R. “Hawk” Barnett passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, July 15, 2024. He was born on December 21, 1928, in Yantis, Texas. H.R. was a long-time member of First Baptist Church and the Radio Bible Class. By trade he was a bricklayer for many years and after semi-retirement he had a dairy and throughout his life was a beekeeper. H.R. enjoyed all his hobbies and adored spending time with his family.

H.R. leaves behind to cherish his memories two daughters, Deborah Head of Decatur, Texas and Cathryn Barnett of Mt. Vernon, Texas as well as four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Ruth Barnett, two brothers, two sisters, one son, Mike Barnett as well as one stepson, Tommy Wood.

The family will have a private family graveside.
