Gladys Marie Thomas

Funeral services for Gladys Marie Thomas, age 88, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Rev. Willis Taylor, Sr. officiating. Pallbearers will be Ivan Wright, Daymon Nash, Jamie Harris, C.J. Williams, Latron Thorton, and Jerome Hargrave.

Gladys passed away on January 6, 2024 at her residence. She was born on February 12, 1935 in Sulphur Springs, TX to Carl and Mary Jane Thomas. Gladys enjoyed gardening and loved cooking for and taking care of her family. She adored having Ariel Tilley a.k.a. “Little Momma” drive her around. Gladys is survived by her daughter Hilda Kay Ford (Johnny Leroy), sisters Dollie Smith (Thomas) and Annie Smith, brother Lester Thomas, grandchildren Uronda Deloney, Kendrick Mosley, Latonya Mosley, Hillary Thomas, Jamarian Ford, and Jakarian Ford, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Leon Wilkerson, brothers William Roger Thomas, Wayne Thomas, Ivory Lee Thomas, and Johnny Wayne Thomas, sisters Stella Lou Thomas, Grace Evelyn Harris, and Carolyn Horton.
