Emily Jane (Pennington) West

Memorial Service for Emily Jane West, age 77, will be at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Ridgeway Church of Christ, the family will be officiating. Emily passed away on July 16, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.

Emily was born on September 14, 1948, to William Valton Pennington and Eloise Patterson Pennington in Dallas, Texas. She worked for 42 years for the Sulphur Springs News Telegram. Emily loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Randy West and Molly Huie; sister, Gena Upchurch and her husband, Ernie; brother, Brian Pennington; grandchildren, Daci and Arliss Malcolm, Dillon and Brittany Clem, and Maggi and Tommy Smith; great-grandchildren, Eloise Malcolm, Elijah and Ezra Clem, and Miles Geary; nieces and nephews, Regina Stanley, Tiffony Chapman, Sonny Upchurch, Paige Pennington, Denise Pennington, Brooke Karr, Michael Pennington, Megan Pennington, Mason Pennington, and Taylor Pennington, as well as many great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Emily was preceded in death by her parents, William and Eloise Pennington, and brother, Bill Pennington
