Coty Powers Obituary

Coty Max Powers passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Coty was born in Tatum, New Mexico on September 23, 1963 to Max Ray and Lola Barbara Powers. He was a very creative and talented child, from his paintings down to taking things apart just to find out how they worked. Because of that, he could fix anything which led to his career as a mechanic. He spent time fixing up his own cars as a hobby too…from 1969 Charger to old pick up trucks to his current baby, “Lightning”.

Coty loved his family and enjoyed recalling memories of his own childhood and of his children. One of the favorite memories of Coty was his deep resonant voice as he sang “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” back in the days of school choir.

Coty is survived by his partner, Johnna Ramsey; his daughter, Mary Nicole Stickley; sons, Russell Coty Powers, Justin Max Powers, and Mitchell Ray Powers; brother, Lan Ray Powers; sister, Lola Josha (Powers) Smith; and grandchildren, Maloraigh, Harlow, Liam, Carson, Hudson, Linley, Madeline (Maddy), Lacey Morgan, Gavin Morgan, Lexi Morgan, and Mazey.

Private family services are to be held.
