Carol Ann Yarber

Funeral services for Carol Ann Yarber, age 79, of Canton, TX, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Webb officiating and Ronnie Yarber assisting. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Austin Yarber, Preston Yarber, Bob Mullins, Bob Overgaard, Gregory Yarber and Steve Bartley serving as pallbearers. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., prior to service. Carol passed away on March 5, 2021 at Texas Health in Kaufman, TX. She was born on November 11, 1941 in Council Bluffs, IA, the daughter of Marius Overgaard and Mildred Helen Schickner Overgaard. At the age of 12 her family moved to the Dallas area where they lived in Lancaster, TX. She married Rex Thomas Yarber on November 14, 1958 in Dallas, TX. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2011. She attended Calvary Baptist in Kaufman, TX and loved singing and being a part of the Sunday school class. In retirement she moved to Sulphur Springs, TX and worked part time for City National Bank. She enjoyed bright colors in all aspects of her life. She also loved gardening and shopping with friends. Carol is survived by son, Randall Thomas Yarber and wife Trina of Canton, TX, daughter, Tanya Gwen Mullins and husband Bob of Crandall, TX, brother, Bob Overgaard and wife Jan of Palmer, TX, and grandchildren, Austin Yarber, Preston Yarber, Tiffany Yarber, and Haley Yarber. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Janice Embrey, and three brothers, Richard Overgaard, Steven Overgaard, and Leslie Overgaard.
