Carla June Kenley

Carla June Kenley of Shirley, Tx passed away at the age of 77 on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.  She was born on December 1, 1946, in Dallas County, Texas.  She was the second child of Temple and Flo Simmons of Reilly Springs, Texas. Carla married Phillip Kenley on December 23, 1967. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. Carla was a registered nurse and received her bachelors in nursing from Texas Women’s University. She spent her life taking care of others and retired from nursing at Hopkins County Memorial. Carla was a member of First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs and loved singing in the choir.  Carla’s love of the Lord and faithfulness was evident to all who knew her.  Some of her favorite days were spent with her beloved husband exploring national parks and finding the beauty in everything around her. 
Carla is survived by her husband Phil, her children Kristi and husband Brandon Kersh, Scott and wife Jenny Kenley, Blair and wife Kristin Kenley; grandchildren  Tanner, Sam, Addy, and Reagan Kenley, siblings Richard and Michael Simmons. Graveside service will be held at Greenview Cemetery on Tuesday November 26th at 10:30am. Visitation will be Monday Evening  from 5-7pm at West Oaks Funeral home.  www.westoaksfuneralhome.com
