Buster Rae Fikes

Memorial services for Buster Rae Fikes, age 91, of Pickton, TX, will be at 11:00 a.m. at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, October 13, 2025, with Bro. Jimmy Rogers officiating.  Buster passed away on  October 4, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. 

Buster was born on August 14, 1934, in in Waco, TX the son of Alvin and Bessie Fikes.  He married Joan Franklin in July of 1965 in Dallas, TX., they were married over 60 years. Buster served in the United States Marines.  He received his bachelor’s degree from Baylor University where he played for the Baylor Bears.  Buster was a coach for many years at Como-Pickton School.  He loved spending time with his family and in his spare time liked to camp, fish and running his trout line.

 In addition to his wife Joan, he is survived by sons, Ronnie Fikes and wife Theresa of Sulphur Springs, Rodney Fikes of Pickton and Russell Fikes of Sulphur Springs, grandchildren, Angela Fikes and husband Brandon Haupt, Brittany Fikes, Eryn Fikes, Daden Fikes and Russell Fikes, great-grandchild Ruben Fikes. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Junior Fikes and great grandchild Raven Fikes.
