Bobby Ray "Bob" Wagner

Bobby Ray (Bob) Wagner, age 89, of Sulphur Springs, Texas died peacefully at home on October 1, 2021. Born August 5, 1932, in Meridian, Texas, to Robert and Bessie Wagner, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruan; a son, Don Ray Wagner; a daughter, Patty Sue Wagner; his parents, and two brothers. He is survived by two daughters, Cindy Adams, and Kim Shipp; one son, Greg Hicks; five grandchildren, Whitney Shipp, Chelsea Shipp, Jeffrey Adams, Jaclyn Ross (Mike), and Jennifer Rathbun (Aaron). He is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Hoot Rathbun, Alyssa Rathbun, Linsey Ross, Lauren Ross, and Madalyn Ross.

After a lifelong career spent in the furniture business, Bob spent his retirement years in service to his church and the community. He was always grateful for each new day, and an opportunity to serve a greater purpose. He was loved by many, both family and friends, and will be greatly missed.

A memorial celebration of life will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 7, 2021. Burial will be at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 1:00 pm October 20, 2021. West Oaks Funeral Home will be handling arrangements.
