Graveside funeral services for Billy Charles “Bill” Hager age 90, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Josh Moyer officiating. Pallbearers will be Justin Hager, Jennifer McKeever, Ty McKeever, Calan Ashmore, Cole Hager and Layne Ashmore.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Friday, July 10, 2026, at West Oaks Funeral Home.
Mr. Hager died on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Christus Mother Francis Hospital.
He was born on August 24, 1935, in Sulphur Springs to Simpkins Sterling “Slim” Hager and Gervis Easley Hager. He married Lynda Moseley on June 17, 1956, in Sulphur Springs and she survives.
Bill, as he was known around town, was dozer operator and dirt contractor. He dug pools all over Hopkins County and surrounding areas. He could work on anything and fix just about all machinery. He enjoyed remodeling old trucks. Bill was also a graduate of Sulphur Springs High School Class of 1953. He was a man of faith being a member of League Street Church of Christ having been Baptized in 1965.
He leaves behind his wife Lynda Hager having been married seventy years. Also, one son Tony Charles Hager and his wife Angela of Denton, daughter Julie Greenfield and her husband Bruce of Pinehurst, North Carolina. Grandchildren; Justin Charles Hager and wife Katie, Jennifer McKeever and husband Ty, Layne Ashmore and wife Candace, Calan Ashmore and wife April, Cole Hager, Michael Hernandez and wife Amanda, Jeff Hernandez and wife Rebecca. Great grandchildren are; Brittni, Sterling, Charlie, Ramey, Dalton, Gavyn, Grady, Gus, Madison, Tate, Mikayla, Jaecee and Bella.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Anna Margaret Simmons.
