Aaron "A.J." Brannon Obituary

Aaron J. Brannon went to be with the Lord on October 30, 2024, at the age of 99 years. AJ was born in Amy, TX, on April 8, 1925, to his parents, Homer Lee Brannon and Roberta M. Brooks, who preceded him in death along with his siblings, Dora Lee Patrick and Roy DeWayne Brannon. AJ married Mable Faye Ford on January 11, 1946, and celebrated 69 years together before her passing in 2015. They had two children, Charles Aaron Brannon, who passed away in 2022, and Mary Hickson, who passed away in 2023.

AJ proudly served his country in the US Navy as a Seabee. He was a business owner in the HVAC and refrigeration industry and taught at a trade school in Dallas before retirement. AJ was guided by his faith and love of the Lord throughout his life. He led worship at church for many years and was often heard singing his favorite song, Now I Belong to Jesus. His hobbies were working in his garden, fishing, enjoying garage sales, and spending time with family and friends.

He often talked of seeing his Heavenly Father, reuniting with his loved ones, and walking on the streets of gold. There is a joyous reunion in Heaven as he is welcomed by those who preceded him in death, including his parents, siblings, devoted wife, Faye, his son, Charles, his daughter, Mary, and his daughter-in-law, Anita Jean.

His life and legacy here on earth will always be remembered by his family: Son-in-law Jim Hickson of Seven Points, TX; daughter-in-law Dee Brannon of Sulphur Springs, TX; Grandchildren Kathy Granger of Melissa, TX, and her husband, Jason; Karin Holacka of Rowlett, TX, and her husband, Jim; Rusty Brannon of Sulphur Springs, TX, and his wife, Laura; Tonya Hickson of Seven Points, TX; Brandi Vitale of Lubbock, TX and her husband, Jeff. AJ had fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren with whom he loved spending time with and showing his garage sale treasures.

Services will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.
