Elna Marcelle White

Graveside services for Elna Marcelle Sims White, age 91, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 1, 2019 at Restlawn Memorial Park with Bro. Tommy Johnston officiating. Pallbearers will be David Gulley Jr., Jeff Gulley, Doug Moore, Gordon Payne, Shane Reed, Brannon Moore, and Steve Moore. There will be no formal visitation. Elna passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Rock Creek Health and Rehab. She was born on December 31, 1927 in Bronte, TX, the daughter of John Marshall Sims and Minnie Ethel Best Sims. She married Robert C. White Jr. on September 4, 1943 in Lamesa, TX. He preceded her in death on December 14, 2017. She loved to travel and go camping. She traveled to almost all of the states in the U.S. She retired from working as a banker for 1st National Bank. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Charlie Sims, Ellis Sims, Dub Sims, and sisters, Ruby Sims Sparks, Florence Sims Hart, and Evelyn Wrinkle. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs, 116 Oak Avenue, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482.
