A Celebration of Life ceremony for Charles “Charlie” Harle Johnston, age 70, of Sulphur Springs will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 24, 2021 at the Sulphur Springs Country Club. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Flippin, Joe Mack Gober, Floyd Nelson, Mack Reed, his grandchildren and Mark Rory and Mike Barrett posthumously. Charlie passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Christus Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler. Charlie was born on November 23, 1950 in Sulphur Springs TX, the son of Thomas Harle Johnston and Gwynn Banks Johnston. He is survived by Gail Johnston, his loving wife of fifteen years. Charlie owned and operated the Banks Company for over 35 years. He was an avid golfer and a man who loved his family very much. In addition to his wife Gail he is survived by his children, Erin Garcia of Carrollton, Christy Godwin and husband Paul of Marshall and Robbie Cunningham and wife Elisha of Choudrant, LA, brother, Tommy Johnston and wife Linda of Sulphur Springs, grandchildren, Cason Garcia, Cohen Garcia, Claire Godwin, Madison Cunningham, Sawyer Cunningham and Zachary Cunningham.
