Linda C. Maddox Talmage was born May 12, 1934 in Sulphur Springs, TX to Newell B. Cambron and Mary Nita Nash Cambron. She died at home on July 17, 2010 at 4:20 p.m. She is survived by her husband, Rex Talmage, her daughter Cathy Harbour and son-in-law Joe Harbour of Plano, TX; her son Randy Maddox of Austin, TX; grandchildren Haley Harbour of Richardson, TX and Micah Harbour of Plano, TX; and a cousin Mary Evelyn Hawley of North Richland Hills, TX. Linda attended Sulphur Springs Grade and High Schools, graduating as Salutatorian of her class in 1952. She then attended Baylor University at Waco, TX, for 3 years, and one year later was graduated from East Texas State University, Commerce, TX in 1956. Shortly thereafter, Linda married Randall B. Maddox on June 12, 1956, who preceded her in death in August of 1981. Their home was in Sulphur Springs, TX. As a member of the Texas Association of Hospital Auxiliaries she was a very active volunteer at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital, accumulating thousands of hours of volunteer service, in addition to being an active member at League Street Church of Christ. On November 6, 2002, she married retired pastor, Rex Talmage, who became her caregiver until her death. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 19, 2010 in the chapel of West Oaks Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow in the Restlawn Memorial Cemetery. Bro. Buddy Wiggins will officiate with Joe Harbour, Micah Harbour, Dan Phillips, Lawrence Bramblett, Tom Etzkorn, and Randy Reed serving as Pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include: Bobbie Phillips, Ima Jean Reynolds, Frances Lowe, Alene Turner, Peggy Bunch, and Mary Bramblett. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral. Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
