Funeral services for Jessie Mae (Pharr) Coker, age 86, of Como will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. L. D. Baxley officiating. Interment will follow in Como Cemetery with Glen Pharr, Jimmy Gillum, Richard Pharr, Roger Pharr, Jerry Neighbors and Dan Schafer serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Coker passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Carriage House Manor. Mrs. Coker was born on October 10, 1923 in Pickton, TX, the daughter of Lee and Connie (Flournoy) Pharr. She married Joe Don Coker on November 24, 1945 in Pickton. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Coker worked for General Dynamics for 30 years as an Illustrator Engineer. After retirement she worked at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital from 1981 to 1986. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Mrs. Coker is survived by her son, Jan Donald "J. D." Coker and wife Gloria of Muenster, grandchildren , Carrie Osborn and husband Stephen of Muenster, Jana Almejo and husband Brian of Queen Creek, AZ, Jesse Coker of Muenster, Casey Coker and wife Christany of Gainesville, great-grandchildren, Erin and Sydney Osborn, Alexa and Body Almejo and Caden Coker. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Bill Pharr, M. L. "Dick" Pharr and wife Betty, Sam Pharr and wife Dorothy. Memorials may be made to Hospice Plus or Carriage House Manor.
